Kachchatheevu Island

Katchatheevu is a small, 285-acre uninhabited island in the Palk Strait, ceded to Sri Lanka by India in 1974 to settle maritime boundaries. It lacks freshwater and features only one structure, St. Anthony's Shrine. The island remains a,flashpoint for fishing rights, causing tension between Tamil Nadu fishermen and Sri Lanka.
