Hero Honda was a historic joint venture between India's Hero Cycles and Japan's Honda Motor Company (1984–2011). Since their split, the Indian company operates independently as Hero MotoCorp, remaining the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume. The Japanese counterpart operates independently as Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI)
