Oymyakon is a remote village in Russia known as the coldest permanently inhabited place on Earth. It's located in the Sakha Republic, within the Yana-Oymyakon Highlands, near the Indigirka River. The village is famous for its extremely low winter temperatures, often dipping below freezing.
